Capital FM Kenya is one of the popular Kenya radio stations.

Frequencies

Capital FM, whose slogan is "the best mix of music," can be listened to by tuning 98.4 MHz in Nairobi and Mombasa, 93.0 in Western Kenya, 98.5 in Nakuru 98.5, and 104.5 in Malindi.

The Kenya radio station is owned by business tycoon Chris Kirubi who acquired it from the Standard Group, the second largest media house in the country.

Established in 1996, Capital FM plays a mixture of hip hop, RnB, rock, neo soul, new jack swing, jazz, techno, dance and Kenyan music. It has firmly positioned itself as the station of choice among the upper- and middle classes of Kenyan society.

Early Success

The brain behind the Capital FM Nairobi's early success was Linda Holt, its first Managing Director. She's now the CEO of Red Sky, an advertising agency.

Popular Presenters

Capital FM's popular presenters are Seanice Kacungira, Fareed Khimani, Chris, Allan and Eve D'Souza.

Ugandan Seanice Kacungira and Fareed Khimani, are without a doubt, the station's biggest assets. Seanice and Fareed, who are both very articulate, co-host the breakfast show every weekday from 6 am to 10 am. Seanice, who is also a director at the station, is due to walk down the aisle with Danish fiancé Christian Gronlund in 2009.

Allan and Mark, who cost co-host The Jam which runs from 2 to 7 pm, have a great sense of humor and an amazing chemistry.

DJ CK (read Chris Kirubi) co-hosts The Fuse, a mid-morning show with Rae where they mostly play rock. DJ CK also presents Club Capital every Saturday evening with Dr. Vey Go between 9 and 11 pm.

The energetic Eve D'Souza presents Hits not Homework on Capital FM Kenya. The program, which targets at the youth, airs every weekday from 7 to 10 pm. Here, D'Souza who is adored by her youthful fans, mostly plays rap and hip hop...

Chit chat is a segment of her show where listeners call, email or SMS their questions on relationships, HIV/ AIDS and other social problems. Other listeners are then encouraged to provide solutions to the highlighted problems.

Mischievous actress Nini Wacera presents Late Night Capital from 10 pm where, as love doctor, she helps her listeners out of their relationship troubles. She intersperses her advice with RnB and blues hits.
