A Good Kenya Map Puts a Geographic Perspective to the Tourist DestinationsA Kenya map - particularly a tourist one - is indispensable to making your Kenya Safari hugely rewarding because it lays out all the tourist hotcakes and puts them in a geographic perspective. Kenya, an East African country whose capital is Nairobi, straddles the equator and is bordered by Ethiopia to the north, Sudan to the northwest, Uganda to the west, Tanzania to the south, Somalia to the east and the Indian Ocean to the southeast. The major tourist attractions in Kenya are dotted over the whole country with Mombasa, Malindi and Lamu - all famous for their dazzling white beaches and stunning coral reefs - being located in the southwest, on the shores of the Indian Ocean. The most popular wildlife havens are Masai Mara found in the southwest of the map of Kenya, Amboseli which lies almost directly south of Nairobi toward the Tanzanian border, Tsavo, which is further east and Samburu, which is further up in central Kenya. Nairobi National Park is located in the heart of the capital of Kenya. These and over 40 other Kenya National Parks are home to thousands of lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, buffaloes, cheetahs, giraffes and countless other Kenya animals. The gigantic Mount Kenya, the highest of the Mountains in Kenya and Africa's second highest peak, is situated a little north of Nairobi. Kakamega Forest, which is Kenya's only rain forest is located in the west, north of Lake Victoria, which Kenya shares with Uganda and Tanzania. Lake Victoria is the world's second largest fresh water lake (after Lake Superior) and the source of the Nile River, the world's longest. An accurate and detailed Kenya Map will no doubt put all these natural features in a geographic perspective.
