The Masai Mara Fly in Safari is a popular Kenya safari for those who can afford little spare time.

Or indeed for those who want to experience the fabled Masai Mara Safari Kenya but who would rather not endure long stretches of bumpy rides on unpaved roads to do so.

This fly-in safari isn't just the quickest way to experience the vast Masai Mara wilderness, it also happens to be the most luxurious.

So, it is a good way to spend the honeymoon or celebrate an anniversary, a christening, landmark birthday or career achievement.

Although not cast in stone, the itinerary would generally be modeled along the following lines...

Day 01 - Masai Mara Touch Down and First Game Drive

At the appointed time, you will be picked up from your city hotel and transferred to the Wilson Airport for a scheduled flight to the Masai Mara National Reserve. In order to preserve the Mara's delicate ecosystem, only light aircraft operate the route and the baggage allowance is accordingly limited to 15 kg (33 lb).

The flight lasts about 45 minutes and you will be met on arrival at the Mara airstrip and transferred to one of the luxury accommodations.

After lunch, you will be taken on an extensive game drive, where the marvels of the Masai Mara National Reserve, the flagship of the Kenya National Parks, will be divulged by expert guides and naturalists.

During this enlightening game drive, you stand a good chance to see herds of African elephants ambling across the savannah, Masai giraffes browsing the innumerable acacias in the park or African lion, cheetahs and with some luck, the incredibly elusive leopard on the hunting trail.

Day 02 - Masai Mara Balloon Safari and More Game Drives

You will awake early in time for your hot air balloon safari. A gentle ascent takes you to a lofty position where you can take in the scenic beauty that is the Masai Mara.

You might even be privy to some wildlife drama between predator and prey so have you camera and binoculars handy!

After an hour or so of gliding over the Mara, you will land to a surreal champagne bush breakfast complete with bone china, linen table cloths and silver cutlery.

If you consider a balloon ride too adventurous to try, you can opt for an early morning game drive instead.

Predators are at their most active at dawn and dusk and you have a real chance of seeing some cat and mouse games between predators and prey.

The rest of the morning is at leisure and you can while it away at your luxury tent's swimming pool.

Later in the day, you'll get your last opportunity to catch some wildlife drama or do some bird spotting and naming.

You will then get down to a well-deserved dinner and overnight stay at the your luxury accommodation.

Day 03 - Depart the Mara

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for a scheduled flight to Nairobi. You will met on arrival at Wilson Airport and transferred to your city hotel.
