And, this is a well-earned accolade. Sarova has been busy improving the image of the hotel over the last few months and many of the rooms have been retrofitted and are as good as new.

Panafric is located along Valley Road, barely half a kilometer from the Nairobi city center.

Staying here would give you easy access to the Central Business District but would also enable you to get away from it all when business has been concluded.

Panafric is also pretty close to the popular Nairobi tourist destinations such as Nairobi National Park, Nairobi National Museum, David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and the Giraffe Center and the Nairobi National Park, world-renowned as the world's only national park that is located in a city.

If you're flying into Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, you'll undoubtedly be landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the main Kenya airport, it will be a short (about 15-20 minutes when the roads are clear) taxi ride to the Panafric hotel.

Resident Guest Reviews

This section highlights what real travelers liked and disliked about the Sarova Panafric Hotel.

What Guests Liked

Sarova Panafric
  • As a 4-star hotel, it offers excellent value for money, especially if you are able to book well in advance of your trip.

  • The rooms are clean, comfortable and aesthetically appealing, especially the newly refurbished ones.

  • The buffet breakfast is wholesome and excellent and will definitely get your day off to an energetic start.

  • The entire staff compliment, with everyone from the butler, to the waiters and managers are friendly and seem genuinely ready to help.

  • The refurbishment of the hotel has been well-managed. The affected areas have been closed off and so there has been minimal interference to the operations of the hotel.

What Guests Disliked

  • Although the rooms facing the main road have double-glazed windows and double-layered curtains which help to keep out much of the sound, they are not sound-proof.

So, if you are a light sleeper, you would be well-advised to specifically request for a quieter room well away from the main road.

  • The check-in and check-out processes can be needless tedious and slow so remember to prepare yourselves mentally for these.

Summary

The Sarova Panafric's stature is fast growing and the ongoing renovations are likely to cement this when completed. Its newly-refurbished rooms will come as a pleasant surprise and a past guest will probably gasp at the incredible transformation.

Note though that the Panafric Hotel isn't the right place for you if you are seeking royal treatment. However, if you are looking for a clean, comfortable and reasonably spacious Nairobi hotel room that offers value for money, the Sarova Panafric may well be your solution.
